GY BID
Why form a BID?

BIDS aim to attract and retain businesses, create jobs and improve the quality of life for people who use the district by improving conditions for doing business in a specific area.

Initiatives being rolled out following successful BID votes in towns and cities like Paddington, Bristol, Holborn and Birmingham include:

  • Street wardens
  • Increased marketing
  • More organised events
  • Free/discounted parking
  • Better management of evening economy
  • Crime prevention seminars
  • Regular street clean-ups

Why does Great Yarmouth need a BID?

It’s fairer - Town Centre Partnership contributors provide a wide range of services and activities within the town and all businesses benefit. In a BID all businesses benefit but all must contribute.

It’s progressive - Secure, sustainable funding would be available to build on what we’ve already achieved - the Town Centre Street Wardens scheme, for instance, could be extended.

It’s wide-ranging - We could address other problems businesses believe have a negative effect on the trading environment.
